Message from the Head of School

Welcome to North Shore Hebrew Academy High School!

Two decades ago, NSHAHS was founded for students seeking an exciting, dynamic Jewish and general education. We set out to build a school unlike any other. With a set of thoughtfully developed and clearly articulated principles that we continue to stand by today, we have achieved in twenty years what other schools accomplish in fifty.

NSHAHS is a place where deep thought, critical analysis, imagination, and creativity are not only encouraged, nurtured, and rewarded – they are required. Students do not learn merely for the sake of passing a test. Instead, each student works to develop intellectual curiosity and the skills with which to pursue their academic and personal interests.

We are committed to providing the best education for everyone we admit by working with each student to identify their unique learning style and maximize their intellectual, social, and emotional growth. With personalized schedules, specialized academic tracks, and extracurricular clubs and activities for every interest, each student can forge their own path to excellence.

As Modern Orthodox Jews, our students strive for personal and professional success in the modern world, while staying committed to the religious teachings of our Torah and our sages. As we give our students the tools to succeed in every area of their academics, we also guide them to understand the benefits of living their lives as observant, ethical Jews. We know our students will have to do a balancing act – we are dedicated to showing them not only how to achieve that balance, but also how to thrive.

We foster in our students a commitment to religious Zionism. Through rigorous Jewish and Israeli history classes, enriching special celebrations and activities, and powerful extracurricular programs, students gain a deep understanding of – and love for – Israel. We know our students will face anti-Israel sentiment in their lives, and we equip them with the knowledge they need to defend and support the Jewish homeland.
